Turmeric and Ginger Honey

Turmeric and Ginger Honey

Supplies

Fresh Organic Ginger Root
Local Honey
Fresh Organic Turmeric Root
Double boiler (or jar for solar infusion)
Black Pepper (optional)

Directions:

Grate 1 tablespoon each of Ginger and Turmeric root and a touch of fresh ground black pepper.
Place in the top part of your pan and pour between ½-1 cup of honey over the material. (This depends on how strong you like it)
In the bottom pan put water to heat so that you won’t over heat your honey and roots. (if you use solar infusion just add to a jar and keep in sun and check it)
Let sit on slow heat for a few hours or so.  (I don’t time it I just check it)
Strain and put in a jar and put it in the frig.

Uses

I use this a few times a day (just about ½ a teaspoon) for minor aches and pains, joint stiffness (stiffness that sometimes comes with winter for me personally), or allergy flare-up (right now I have 2 cats visiting so it’s helping with my allergies. A little in your tea for flavoring is very nice.  Before meals is lovely (you can just eat a little and help with digestion. Anytime or anywhere you may want to help with any kind of inflammation. (Generally just a good things to take daily too because it is great for general health).  Too many uses to list here.  :D
